History nearly forgot you, but the autobiography of Phillip Francis, "Seventy Years in the Coal Mines" did not. Mr. Francis called you a, "fearless officer." You proved him correct. Based entirely upon the many newspaper accounts and Mr. Francis's recollection, the gun battle you were in would be considered one of the most memorial in the history of the United States. You sir, are a True American Lawman. It was truly my honor to discover your story from an 84 year old autobiographical book. I am honored beyond words to have submitted you to ODMP.org.
