Reflections for Police Officer Gregory Todd Maloney
"The Fallen Hero"
Everyday you did your job, without question & without fear.
It could have been morning, noon or night, but I knew you would be there.
You didn't have to know me, or you could have been my friend.
It amazingly didn't matter, you were there until the end.
We know you didn't want to leave, but you served your call of duty.
Our hero has left the precinct, but shall forever be in our hearts.

So sad to see this courageous officer died in the line of duty.
Any death is a loss, but to lose someone that gives their life to
helping others, is just so hard to take. I am just trying to make
sense of this and all the other beautiful men and women who die
while working in this line of work. After reading this and others I am sadden to see so many. God speed and my respect to them all.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Gregg was killed.
To the Maloney family, officers, and all who call Gregg beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Maloney gave to his community and the citizens of Massachusetts, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 1, 2014.

He went to work one morning and did not know
This shift he served would bring such sorrow
This call to duty would be his last
His time on earth is now his past
God set this day as his time to go
Rest in peace Officer Maloney, now a hero
He gave the ultimate sacrifice
With integrity and pride he paid the price
His family, friends and colleagues will mourn
As an angel in heaven he is now reborn
His golden heart stopped beating
Hardworking hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the very best.
