Reflections for Master Trooper Junius Alvin Walker
Rest easy brother, you have stood your watch with pride and professionalism. Go to the promised place where you can look down to see your brothers continue what you have started. Thank you for your service. May the light of Christ ease the pain on the ones you have loved, and loved you return. Your service to VSP will be remembered by all of us who served with you.

In the simple performance of duty,
he pinned on a badge,
checked his gear with a practiced eye,
and kissed his loved ones good-bye.
In the simple performance of duty,
he reported for work,
joked with his buddies at roll call,
and made his last trip down the squad room hall.
In the simple performance of duty,
he answered the call
to help the helpless, to find the lost,
no matter the danger or how great the cost.
In the simple performance of duty,
he lay down his life,
for those in peril he tried to save,
our brave friend went to his grave.
In the simple performance of duty,
we honor his deed,
as we carry him to rest in a flag-draped casket,
long after the world has forgotten,
we shall never forget.
Never judge or regret, what he did,
In the simple performance of dut

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
Thank you for your service brother. Rest In Peace. For the family including his law enforcement family, I offer this poem I heard at a funeral for another brother officer. I hope it helps to ease your pain.
No Sorrow To Die
-by Amelia Josephine Barr
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
I have sent up my gladness on wings, to be lost in the blue of the sky.
I have run and leaped with the rain, I have taken the wind to my breast.
My cheek like a drowsy child to the face of the earth I have pressed.
Because I have lived life, I have no sorrow to die.
I have kissed young Love on the lips; I have heard his song to the end,
I have struck my hand like a seal in the loyal hand of a friend.
I have known the peace of heaven, the comfort of work done well.
I have longed for death in the darkness and risen alive out of hell.
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.
I give a share of my soul to the world where my course is run.
I know that another shall finish the task I must leave undone.
I know that no flower, nor flint was in vain on the path I trod.
As one looks on a face through a window, through life I have looked on God,
Because I have loved life, I shall have no sorrow to die.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Trooper Walker's wife, children, extended family members and his Virginia State Police family. It saddens me deeply whenever I hear that one of my brothers or sisters in blue has fallen.
We all know that when we raise our hand and take our oath that it is a possibility that while doing our job we may not return home to our loved ones at the end of our tour.
In the face of danger we press on, it is our calling and it takes a special kind of person to do this job and do it well and Trooper Walker took that walk for 40 years, which is incredible.
I am sure in this time he touched alot of lives and helped alot of people. Thank you Trooper J.A. Walker for your service.
By the grace of God go I.....
