Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Jeremiah Alan MacKay

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

You can rest assure that you not only helped the citizens of San Bernardino County but the rest of the State of California and the United States. I am grateful that there are brave officers like you who are willing to sacrifice their precious lives to protect us. Another "Hero" taken. Prayers to your department and most of all to your Loved Ones, you did not die in vain, you died doing what you loved and for that you are a REAL HERO! Thank you. Come walk a beat in Heaven. Watch over your brothers and sisters now, and help keep them safe, as we must stay for now. Till we walk the beat together again, may you R.I.P. SIR.

What a tragic loss of life, this officer was obviously very courageous for running towards extreme danger while many would have run away. I hope his family can take solace in knowing that he was a brave and loyal hero to his family, community, co-workers and country.
