I thank Trooper Miller and his fellow troopers from the very bottom of my heart, for their bravery in protecting innocent lives. I know the fear one feels as a protector, putting himself in danger to save others; I served two tours of combat overseas. Yet, despite the inherent risk, these men and women remain dedicated to fighting crime and saving lives daily.
If only everybody gave first responders the respect, admiration and gratitude that they deserve - only then would we avoid such tragedies.
As a future Alaska state trooper (God willing), every one of these tragedies give me a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. My heart goes out to the family, friends and comrades who knew and will always love this hero. This man's ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten. He is in the Lord's grace now, with all of his brothers and sisters whom have also made the ultimate sacrifice. God bless you, Trooper Joshua Miller. Thank you, Trooper Joshua Miller.

Joshua,
Thank you for your brave and noble service. Your actions save a child from further harm. I can see no more noble cause that laying your life down for the helpless.
May God comfort your family and friends in their time of sorrow and grief. May He hold them close when they need it most.
Until I get a chance to thank you in Heaven, God Speed Brother.

Rest in Peace my Brother.
I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper
I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

I am so sorry for your loss. I felt I had to leave a message, because of something that happened to me a few weeks ago. My car was hit by a deer, but I didn't know WHAT had happened, so I called the police. When the officers arrived I said "Boy, am I glad to see you!" The officer stopped - I asked what was wrong - He said, "We don't her THAT very often." I was stunned, and then realized that you all need to know that those of us who are law abiding citizens feel SAFE everytime we see one of your officers on the road - we are grateful that you are out there 24-7 to PROTECT US. I'm sure you don't get told that enough, but please know that we appreciate how you literally put your lives on the line every day. I want to thank you for all of us who don't think to let you know how much the job you do, puts our minds at ease. Please let Officer Miller's family know that we all grieve with them. Sincerely, Leslie J. Moseley
