My sincere and deepest condolences to the family, friends and the members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol for the appalling and senseless loss of Trooper Calvin Jenks. I knew in my heart this horrifying day would arrive for the first Law Enforcement Officer that would tragically loose his life in the line of duty in 2007. Trooper Jenks gave his life trying to protect the public from these spineless animals who are the scourge and plague of society. Trooper Jenks will now unite with our other Fallen Officers who have earned the right to be with their Lord and Master; for we are truly called the “Children of GOD”. May you Trooper Jenks and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in perpetual peace. My thoughts and prayers are with You, your Family, Friends and all your Brother Officers…. Eternally.

John 14:1-4
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God[a]; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
