Reflections for Investigator David Michael Petzold

Rest in peace brother. You now walk a beat on Heaven's streets. While I did not know Dave, I feel a very strong bond to all men who choose to wear a badge and lay down their lives for those that they do not know. For there is no greater love that one man would lay down his life for another. My condolences to Dave's family, his brothers-in-arms at the Upper Saucon Police Department and his fellow brothers in blue who grieve every time one of our own makes the ultimate sacrifice.

Jessica, my oldest son (one of my five children) who will soon be 18 was involved in an automobile accident about 7 months ago. Your kind husband was the officer who responded. He comforted my son in this very scary time in two ways. First, Officer Petzold was a familiar face. My son had already feelings of admiration for David for the work he did in the community within the youth community. Secondly, because of how calmly and understandingly the entire accident was handled. When I arrived at the scene, I was also comforted by his calming nature. He made us feel that everything was going to be okay, and I knew my son had been in good hands from the beginning.
Our children enjoyed the 2006 football/cheerleading season together, and we will Pray for you all. God Bless

You touched more lives than you know.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Dave, yet my heart aches deeply for his untimely death. My prayers do sincerely go out to is family, loved ones, colleagues and community to which he devoted, and gave his life to. I feel for his wife and children who in one split second have had their lives turned upside down. I pray God gives them the courage they'll need to cope with their sudden loss, for this is truly the toughest. We have lost a wonderful human being, but we have also gained an Angel. I believe he was called home for a higher purpose, and he will continue to serve us with much greater powers. I can't express enough how sad I am for all the peoples lives he has touched and left behind. May God bless everyone who has been impacted by this "tragic" accident, for there are many, and the tomorrow's they have to face without him.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

On the morning of the accident there was a group of women gathering at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Coopersburg for their weekly Bible study. Because of the traffic tie-up women were arriving at various times. We knew there was an accident and before long we received the news that the police officer died. We stopped and prayed for his family and for all others involved and for all who would be affected by this tragedy. We knew no names at this time, but we knew it would be a situation that touched many lives in this small community and beyond. We want you each to know that we continue to pray and trust that God will be your comfort at this very difficult time.

As the wife of an Office, this is your worst fear!
My heart goes out to Jess, Sarah, Samantha and Johnathan.
Also, to all the "BROTHERS" of law enforcement, I can't not say how Sorry I am. Especially to
Nicoletti, Fritts's, Apgar's, Pochek's, and USPD.

I have known Dave for 10+ years. My niece would babysit the children so we could go out to dinner.
Dave, I will miss you so much! You were a GREAT friend to us. You were Danny's inspiration! You were so genuine, always listening, never judged. You meant so much to
to those close to you.

You are OUR HERO. We will help Jess and the kids through this. May you RIP and watch over us!

We love you Dave!
