Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Stan Piquette
To the family, friends, and officers that knew Dpty Sheriff Piquette, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time through a prayer, to me
And all around me became still
I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes
'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name
Well I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me
'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name
Love can help me know my name

When I saw the accident that took your life on the television early that morning it was still not public that a Deputy had lost his life. Later that afternoon while driving to the station I heard from a news talk radio show that a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy had lost his life tragically in an accident on the 91 freeway. Most at the station hadn't heard the news of your untimely passing, but during my shift, at even the most unexpected times, citizens would take note of the mourning band and ask me is that for Deputy Piquette? Every citizen gave their condolences and blessed you for the work you did.
Rest in Peace and God Bless You.
You most definitely will not be forgotten.

We once again have lost a part of the brotherhood of law enforcement. These times are difficult and the family and department has a long road of recovery ahead of them. The staff of Cops Evangelist Ministries would like you to know that we are and will continue to pray for you in this time of sorrow. Remember that God will not give you more then you can handle. Philippians 4:13 says…I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.
