Reflections for Inspector Thomas Allen Belt

I am a granddaughter of Thomas Allen Belt. My mother Mary Allene Belt Wachtel was
Born in Virginia, November 2, 1917. She was 13years old when her father died. Her mother was
Myrtle Shanner Belt. An older sister, Dorothy Belt, and younger brother, Townsend Wentworth Belt.
One sibling died soon after birth, a male, who is buried along side his parents in Stanton, Va.

On May 21, 2025, I will be attending, along with my cousins, Joseph , (son of Townsend Wentworth Belt and
and mother, Jean Ellis Belt, both deceased) with Joseph's wife, Elaine Guagliardo Belt to Richmond, Virginia
for a celebration of Inspector Belt.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
