Reflections for Trooper Kevin Michael Marshall
Thinking of you 24/7.
August 12, 2005
Miss you...........
August 11, 2005
This song was sung in our church recently. Try to obtain a copy and listen. It is beautiful and comforting...
"I Heard the Voice of Jesus"
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down,
Thy head upon My breast."
I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting-place,
And He has made me glad.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down and drink and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream.
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am this dark world's Light.
Look unto Me; thy morn shall rise
And all thy day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that Light of Life I'll walk
Till traveling days are done.

Kevin,
I met your mother last month at a benefit for another Trooper, and I must say she is an amazing woman. I told her I wish I had known you in life. Unfortunaltey, your funeral was my first as a young Troop....and sadly I know it probably won't be my last. Seeing you in the same uniform I put on everyday was so hard. I can't even imagine the pain your family must have felt (and I am sure still do). Rest in peace knowing your brothers and sisters in blue are watching over them. And know that everyday that I get behind the wheel of that blue goose, you and those that have gone before you are on my mind.

Angie - yes, of course Kevin's spirit is still at your side! This is so ironic. Tonight when I visited the ODMP a memorial came up on the home page, that of a Texas officer (John Bennett) that died in an auto accident in July 2003, just after Kevin had died. I read the reflections, and saw one from his wife. She said she read a reflection in print, and thought it was so beautiful she wanted to share it with others. I copied it here for you. It has been two very hard years on you and your kids. Kevin knows how very much you all love and miss him, and he would want you to find happiness again. Life does go on, as hard as it is sometimes. I have been down the road myself. Being happy again doesn't mean you love or miss Kevin any less. Here's that reflection. I hope you find some peace in it! It's beautiful -
And if I go, while you're still here,
Know that I still live on, Vibrating to a different measure behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me, so you must have faith.
I wait the time when we can soar together again, both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to the fullest. And when you need me, just whisper my name in your heart. I will be there.

Hey Marsh,
I think you would be proud of your friends. Despite their busy schedules, they try to talk and see each other as much as possible. Your memory remains strong. I am proud of the affect you have had on so many lives.
Keep looking out for us.

I hope that the previous post was correct and that "your spirit has never left our sides". 2 years.....feels like an eternity and just yesterday at the same time. I'm trying so hard to honor you by finding peace and happiness in my life. I KNOW that is what you would want for all of us. You're simply the best!

Two years ago... one of my closest LEO friends was on his way to assist at the scene. I watched the news closely and was devastated at what had happened. For the last two years, those that loved you have mourned your loss. Today, on the second anniversary of your death, instead of tears and sadness, may they experience peace and only happy memories of you, for your spirit has never left their side. The reflections your family and friends have left here make evident their love and admiration for you. May your rest in heaven continue to be one of peace. I pray that God will continue to bring strength and healing to Angie and your kids. On this day, and every day, we remember. You are sorely missed and your sacrifice and bravery will never be forgotten. Thank you, Kevin.
