I echo my sister's comments and appreciate the expressions of sympathy extended by the others who have taken the time and effort to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty.

Patrolman Walsh,
On today, the 83rd anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your community, but also for our Country when you served in the USN. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

It grieves me that I was never able to meet or know my grandfather and also that his killers were never brought to justice. But I am proud of his courage in the face of danger and that he was obviously not one of the many officers being bought off by the gangsters. I am comforted by the fact that he played a part in helping to end the rampant violence of those times.
