Reflections for Police Officer Robert Venable
I'm sorry to see that there are not more reflections in your honor but it is obvious that the ones that are here are those from friends who miss you greatly. I never knew you but I respect the job you did and the greatest sacrafice that you made. I hope your daughter grew up as well as could be with the physical absence of her father in her life. Thank you for your dedication and for serving.

~~~Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep~~~
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn’s rain
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circled in flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
I am the flowers that bloom by day
I am the fragrance of new mown hay
I am each blade of grass that grows
I am the rush of melting snow
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am no there, I did not die…..
Brother I remember us working in district 2 together and then we both went to plainclothes in Brooklyn. On that tragic night I remember that you were trying to get off so that we could party in Pennsylvania.
RIP my brother and know that you are not forgotten.
Remembering you on the anniversary of your death. May God comfort
all those who are still grieving your passing. Life is difficult at times
and the Lord Jesus wants to help carry our burdens. He gives us many
beautiful promises in His Word to help us through our valleys. I pray you
will feel His presence and know His peace. God bless!
Bobby... It's been over 15 years since that terrible night. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I miss your sense of humor and how you always were smiling. Even though we were in diferent units we somehow always seemed to end up at the same place. Euclid Ave is etched in my mind, because that is where I lost a friend. I still remember giving you my reciept for an approved day off (TP30) so you could write down the particulars of the arrest and I told you that if I got into trouble for taking the day off, I was going to come after you. Who knew you would be shot 20 minutes later for no other reason than that you were a police officer. RIP
