Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

Willard, my dad was from Reading, Ohio, and I am sure that we are related as there are so few Santels. I was born in Texas, and have spent my adult years mostly in Virginia, first with the Navy, and for the last 9 years as an officer with the Newport News Police Department. I like to think that I carry on the torch you began carrying in the 1940's; honor, commitment and loyalty to the community. Rest in peace, cousin.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 67th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.
