47 years ago today, we lost my father—a proud California Highway Patrol officer who gave his life in the line of duty. His service, sacrifice, and love have never been forgotten.

This year feels especially poignant, as he and my mom are now reunited once again. Two hearts that loved deeply, now at peace together.

Thank you, Dad, for your courage. Thank you, Mom, for your strength. I carry you both with me, always.
