Conservation Officer Amos Horrocks was killed in an automobile crash on Friendship Road in South Brunswick.
He was on routine patrol when his department vehicle struck a tree at about 4:50 pm.
Officer Horrocks was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and had served with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife for five years. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
