Frank M. Epperson

Officer Frank Epperson was killed in a motorcycle crash while attempting to pass a truck in an attempt to stop two speeding vehicles on Highway 99 (modern day I-10) near Thousand Palms.

The truck began to make a left turn in front of the car causing a collision.

Officer Epperson was a Korean War veteran and had served with the California Highway Patrol for six years. He was survived by his wife and 4-year-old son.

On today, the 70th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
