I just finished a phone call with your daughter Kathy, who used to be my surgeon when I was employed with the Los Angeles County Police Department for 10 years. Your daughter was and is an awesome example of you and she was a great sergeant to work for.
I worked at the very office where you were brutally murdered at. Every time I go there, I think of you and think of the sacrifice that you paid for us.
After spending 15 years on the sheriffs department after the dismantling and takeover of the county police, I have transferred back to the county services bureau, and I currently patrol the county buildings, including the one where you were assigned.
I would like to thank you for your sacrifice and I want you to know that you will never be forgotten. You will always have a special place in my heart and my thoughts and prayers will be for your friends loved ones and family members who lost you.
Godspeed, my brother, please rest in peace. You didn’t deserve to die that day. You were just doing your job and protecting and serving people you didn’t even know.
