View all 15 ReflectionsI happened to be on duty as a civilian RTO dispatcher at LAPD Communications Division when a call came in about a man in the street on Western Ave, obviously drunk or otherwise having a problem.
The responding officers quickly detected a serious problem and called downtown detectives. They instructed that he be checked at Downtown Hospital and the detectives arrested him, which started his eventual arrest and taken to prison, where he died within about 4 years later
