Game Warden Richard Wynne succumbed to injuries sustained on October 26th, 1948, in an automobile crash on Canyon Highway about 10 miles south of Amarillo.
A woman in the other vehicle was also killed.
Game Warden Wynne was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and the recipient of the Purple Heart. He had served with the Texas Game, Fish, and Oyster Commission for 12 years. He was survived by his wife, two children, parents, and two brothers.
