Most Recent Reflection
View all 24 ReflectionsToday is the 33rd anniversary of your death and our son is now 36 years old and oh how proud you would be of him and the man he has become. He is so much like you. I am constantly amazed by the reflection of you in him, even the things that he says and how it sounds like it's coming from you. He takes pride in the fact that he has done what both of his parents have done during their career in law enforcement. He started out as a Patrol Officer and later became a Criminal Investigator and worked with narcotics as uniformed interdiction Officer before becoming a Deputy Sheriff. He is now an instructor with the Police Academy and a very good one so I am told by some of his cadets. In fact, he just texted me to remind me that today was the 33rd anniversary of your death. This month is also my 40th anniversary with the Sheriff's Office as and I still have another year and a half before I reach my full retirement age. We have been through so many struggles but have managed to survive them all by the Grace of God including the Covid Pandemic. We have never stopped loving you, missing you or forgotten you and have attended in person or in spirit 32 years of the Peace Officers Memorial Service to pay honor and tribute to you and your unselfish service and ultimate sacrifice. I asked for prayers today in remembrance of you for our son.
