Dear Chief of Police Jonathon Chambers and Members of the Chattanooga Police Department,

We were deeply saddened to hear about the loss of K9 Diesel, your loyal and brave canine. I can only imagine how difficult this time must be for K9 Diesel’s handler, your fellow officers, and all who had the privilege of working alongside such a remarkable partner. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of K9 Diesel.

It is clear that K9 Diesel was not only a highly skilled and dedicated member of your department but also a beloved companion and true community hero. The work that K9 Diesel and the handler performed—from tracking dangerous suspects to detecting threats—was vital, courageous, and deeply appreciated.

The bond between a K9 and their handler is unique and profound, forged through trust, mutual respect, and daily dedication to a shared mission. Losing such a partner is not just a professional loss, but a deeply personal one, and our hearts go out especially to K( Diesel’s handler during this tough time.

K9 Diesel’s legacy of service, bravery, and unwavering commitment to public safety has left a permanent mark on your department and the community. The impact of that service will not be forgotten.

Please know that as you mourn, you are not alone. The broader law enforcement family and your community stands beside you, united in grief and gratitude. Having served in law enforcement for over 45+ years and as part of a law enforcement family, I understand the sacrifices that come with this profession. If there is anything we can do to offer support or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

May the memory of K9 Diesel bring you comfort, and may K9 Diesel’s legacy continue to inspire courage, service, and dedication in all who wear the badge.

With deepest sympathy,

Chief (retired) Don P. Jensen Sr. DrE, PGP, PP, PM

K9 Diesel, Your extremely handsome, alert face reflects your drive, readiness and desire to perform your duties expertly every time. Only God knows why He wanted you returned to your eternal home at a great loss to your partner, Department and the world. Your light shines like a flawless diamond in the sky, since God has hung a star in honor of you in eternity! Let your partner, family and Department know that all is well, that you are well and God's timing is perfect, even if we do not understand. You rocked it!

Lord God of Unfailing Love, to those families of our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member in the Line-of-Duty, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Father God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer! In Christ Jesus, and by His Authority and Sacrificial Blood, I pray. Amen.

Scripture Verses of Support, Comfort and Hope from the Law Enforcement Officer's Christian Standard Bible:

[Jesus taught:] "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4), and;

[Jesus proclaimed:] "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!'" (Matthew 25:21a).
