K9 Bloo was shot and killed by a deputy while members of the Fugitive Unit were attempting to serve a warrant on a rape suspect in an apartment complex on Kimberly Way SW in Atlanta.
The suspect fled on foot and K9 Bloo was released for an apprehension. K9 Bloo lost sight of the suspect and came upon a plainclothes detective who had been involved in the foot pursuit. K9 Bloo aggressively approached the detective, who fired in self-defense.
The suspect escaped following the shooting but was apprehended several days later.
K9 Bloo had served with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office for two years.
