You lived a quiet and humble life at home raised by your two loving parents, Officer Cook and enjoyed a cherished married life with your beloved Karen. Dade County was where your virtue, honesty, dignity and integrity all accentuated their posts of perseverance and most prudent pride and proficiency. Devoted to the causes of mankind your heart and soul both strong and decent stood up to the wave of wanton evil and for this service may Our Creator bless and reward your heroic angelic spirit. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

An angel of valor who now walks a beat above in heaven where nothing will ever harm you again, Officer Cook. And forevermore a hero to your family, comrades and to the people of Dade County where you gave your life and career serving and protecting them against the likes of callousness, heinousness and the cowards who seem to commit the most ghastly of crimes. You were still a young man with much to live for. Honesty, integrity and dignity were respect, vigilance and your heart coming together as one entity. Those watching over us must follow your leads and exemplary conduct if they are to overtake the wickedness that threatens mankind. Badge#1664 was the insurance and assurances of your tireless, unselfish and loyal endeavors poured forth to shield society from anymore adversity. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Your former colleague, brother officer and close personal friend, Officer Cook, Officer Keith DiGenova is having his 70th birthday March 3rd and I believe lives now in Ormond Beach, FL. So many years and he has suffered from that day being shot and nearly taken from this world. You and him were very close and played tennis at the park in North Miami. I'm sure he remembers you he called you Bill which most people called you. You were a man who demonstrated a humble confidence, humane dignity and integrity that accentuated your trails of trust and truth that followed you throughout your life and duly uplifting career. Dade County salutes you, Officer Cook and we must never forget you because you were there no matter the dilemma, issue or circumstance. A man of wisdom, heart and virtue whose vital versatility handled every element of your humble position. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. To bad I can't find out about your last partner that day, Reserve Officer Scott Lincoln. Hopefully he and Officer Edgerton are doing well. Robert Edgerton is 82 or 83 years of age now. He went on to become a deputy sheriff with Broward County.

No one likes to be ridiculed. Embarrassment takes a person's pride from them. A humble and genuinely wonderful soul of a human being doing a job, performing a profession that has many elements of danger and yet to keep your honesty, wits and dignity about you, Officer Cook, it takes every ample space of integrity and a heart centered on the basic onuses ahead even with proper and diligent training, fieldwork and classroom preparation. Dade County was much more served by more than a smile, more than a greeting. Bravery and humility followed you all the days, months and years of your life. Character makes a man or woman grow up fast, so too does commitment, pride and excelling in what you desired to become. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Reigning in terror and evil to restore law and order takes every vessel, every vehicle and every ounce of heroic virtue on behalf of those whose honor and heart are certainly distinct. To formulate and to craft an impression of enrichment, enhancement and to uplift the people takes every skill and talent that God blessed you with, Officer Cook. To fortify the citizens of Dade County with serenity and safety took your entire soul of esteem and loyalty to build something special. It's a terrible shame that you could not be a part of these changes, your character, commitment and convictions remain a vital part of your truthful and trustworthy legacy now carried onward by your loved ones.
