I could not attend the memorial run because I was at EVOC but I did have the honor to meet your parents. It was a heartwarming feeling that your parents are treated like family within the department and how your legacy continues. You are truly someone to look up to, rest easy, and thank you.

I have a friend at flower shop, Lorena, and she donates flowers to you every week. Dad and I put them on the freeway for you. We love and miss you a lot. I think of you every single day.

Dave, you were a guest coach for IHS Wrestling while I was on the team and over the years I've often thought about how you carried yourself when you visited us in the mat room. You set a good example for young people to look up to. I still include you in the group of LE professionals who I try to honor when I train, I remember you not for how you died, but for how you lived. To me, that is your legacy.
