Reflections for Police Officer Bryan Scott Hurst

Bryan,
I hope you like you new ornament. I keep the first one in my car, kind of like a guardian angel. I still think of you daily. I cant believe it has been 5 years. Still seems so fresh in my mind. God Bless you!

HURST,

Hard to imagine it's been 5 years.

Your Mom put an excellent memorial in The Toledo Blade, true, so true.

Your memory lives on and your courage in the face of danger exemplify the man you are.

We miss you, gone but never ever forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of your family.

Rest In Peace

Bryan, thinking of you on this, the 5th anniversary of your death. So strange to think that so much time has passed already when it feels like that horrible day was just yesterday. But you are never forgotten and we all continue to honor your memory. Please continue to watch and protect us from above. We love you!

Just wanted to stop by and say happy new years Bryan. It is so hard to believe that in a few days it will be 5 years. It still is very hard to comprehend. Great to see that marissa and malia are doing good. Have a beer in heaven and remember that you will never be forgotton.

Thinking of you during the holidays, Bryan. My Dad and I were in a bad auto accident on December 7, and I know you were watching from above, along with God, to save our lives. I carry your picture and small badge on my car visor always. Please know that you are never ever forgotten. I lit a candle in your memory at Christmas church services. Malia continues to bring such joy to my life! She has a real sense of humor and is so bright. Continue to watch over all of your family and brothers in blue. Most importantly, know that we all love you and continue to honor your sacrifice.

Another Veterans Day has passed and 5 years is approaching. A picture in almost every room of the house and all the memories help to ease what I am sure is a pain that won't ever pass. I always looked up to you so much and think about all the good and admirable things you did in your life. I miss you Bro

Bryan-
Recently a friend was explaining what happened on jan. 6, 2005 and he described it as me witnessing a shooting. I was taken back by what he perceived of that day. You and I both know that it was more. You gave your life for all of us at the bank that day. We may be here to relive it everyday, and feel the terror, but you gave your life. Know that all of us thank you and revere you for the sacrifice you made. You are and always will be my hero! Thank you for all the hard work you are doing up there to keep all of us safe!

The one thing a policeman always worries about is what you faced on this dreadful day! I will tell you that everything thats happens, both good and evil, happens for a reason. Its just so trajic that its happening more and more to those who took am oath to protect all sociaty, at all times, no exception! Im gald this site is available to the public citizen so they may witness the "ultimate" sacrifice that Law Enforcement makes all to often. Rest in Peace now Hero!

Bryan,

There is a K-bay reunion in Virginia Beach on the weekend of the 23rd of August. I was just sitting here thinking of the good times we had there. I think Slusser sent your family an invite, and we hope to see them there, but completely understand if they can't make it. I think about your little girl all the time and I hope she is doing well. Even though we had not seen each other in a while it is extremely sad to know that I will never see you again. Keep an eye open for us down here.
