Sometimes police have to play the hands they are supposed to deal with. Though we understand that experience is the greatest teaching factor, To implement and to integrate takes superior ingenuity and the highly motivated integrity to be able to withstand the charges of evil. You stood trusted and loyal, Officer Cook, demonstrating great and master honesty and humbleness to go up against such nasty adversity. You did an outstanding job not just on May 16,1979, everyday was all heart, soul and reverent commitment to morals, ethics and mettle blending themselves equally well not to be forgotten. Your refined, humble and heroic dignity, integrity and character stood face to face to shelter and to shield Dade County from any possible attack of terror and heinousness. Such was carried out against you and your colleagues and your respectful and dedicated took was snuffed out by a callous and awful individual lacking anything remotely decent within the realms of civilization. Justice never seems to prevail. It's the sick and sad reality of life and this world when good men and women sacrifice and their killers are deemed insane and are acquitted after a jury trial. The eyes and ears, the heart and soul with a mind furnished to complete a nobly sacred mission all discontinued because of one madman without any regard for human life. No respect, Officer Cook, the person who took you from this world and robbed your family of witnessed fruition, loyalty, hope and honesty all marching down those roads of dignity and integrity. Mr. DiGenova is the twin brother of your forever partner, friend and tennis buddy, Officer Keith DiGenova. He was nearly killed that day you sacrificed your life on behalf of Dade County, Officer Cook. I'm sure he was as decent and as dignified as yourself, honorable and a man concerned the welfare of those he protected. Hopefully he and Officer Robert Edgerton are doing as well as can be expected.
