Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Bryan Scott Hurst

Hi Bryan, I know I have not wrote for a long time but I still visit here each night. I thought as time went on things would become less painfull, but that is not the case, bad things keep happening to good people. I know you can't protect us all or watch out for us all, but please know your always in my thoughts and not a day goes by that I don't think about you. Keep watch over those who cannot be with us right now. Your our Angel and Hero always!

Bryan,

Today we have lost another Officer and good friend. Jason Tormasi was taken from us early this morning on his way into work. Bryan please welcome him into heaven and take care of him. We all are in mourning and pray for him and his family as we still do for you. Please watch over him and continue to watch over us. We miss both of you dearly. Thank you for everything you both have done to keep us safe. We will continue to make you both proud!

Devil Dog,
I posted your ODMP Profile on the patrol board here at MCB Quantico PMO for all military police Marines to see. Also passed your story to other young Marines to give them an example of what a Warrior is. Semper Fi.

Bryan, I will always come here to leave a reflection no
matter what! People have moved on with life and I guess thats normal, but what is not normal is forgetting about
what you did that day!!! We are all here because of you!
I wish i could have gotten to thank You!!!! Just remember
some of us will never forget you!!!!!!!!

YOU ARE SOOOOOOO LOVED AND MISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On September 11, 2001 72 Law Enforcement Officers were killed by an act of terrorism. On January 6, 2005 a thug terrorized your bank and you defended it, saving many lives at the expense of yours. I think about you every day but many more tears are shed for you on this day of rememberence. GOD Bless.

Bryan,
I want you to know that you are not forgotten. Every day when I wake up I put a memorial band on my wrist to remember what you gave up so others may live. I ask that you watch over all of us who are trying to become a police officer and those who already are. I know it can be dirty work but someone has to do it. Thanks again. and God Speed!

Bryan,

Unfortunately, Donnie and I had to break our tradition Saturday. But, it didnt keep me from toasting one in your honor. I did however, have one with your brother. Regardless, we won and amazingly Michigan lost. We all miss you and hopefully I'll see you on the 8th.

Rest in peace brother, we'll get it from here.

Bryan-
I was thinking of you today - first game of the season. I guess I was reflecting a bit today and thoughts came to you. I just wanted to say that you are not forgotten and that your memory and what you did for all of us that day will never fade. The Bucks won! Rest softly hero!

Hi Bryan
There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you or remember what you did for us that day.
I read your reflections everyday and it amazes me the people that didn't even know you, but still love you.
You were(are)an amazing man and I am so proud to tell people that I was your friend.
I read a reflection from someone that recently opened an account at 5/3 and he wrote that your picture is proudly displayed in the lobby of Canyon Center. Your picture was put there for that very reason, so that everyone that walked thru that door would know what you did (the sacrifice that you made) that day.
Patrolman E. Davidson from Whitehall PD recently wrote in a reflection stating that he really didn't know you but wished that he did.
I left 5/3 for reasons that you know and I now work in White hall ( Kemba Credit Union ) and I would love to tell Davidson and everyone else that wants to know you, what a good (amazing) man you were.
THANK YOU for your service to this country, to the citizens of Columbus,Ohio and especially to the employees of 5/3 Bank Canyon Center. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here to write this.
Always thinking of you
Love Angie

Never got to know you, although I feel like I do. I've heard so many stories from your friends. It seems like yeterday that I heard the news. I was standing in a long line, getting really irritated...minding my own grumpy business. Then it came. A report came across the TV and stopped me in my tracks. In a daze, I walked towards the TV in daze. A few days after that, I was standing in attention at your funeral. Although I was in uniform and in formation, saluting you....several tears rolled down my face. RIP Officer Bryan Hurst CPD #2057

hard to beleive how fast time goes by....seems like just yesterday we were all in the academy wondering what our future had in order for us? everything happens for a reason, but its hard at times to believe why some people live through their incidents and others do not, I still havent figured that one out.? Even though I wasnt as close to you as some were, I was still blessed to not have been a stranger and to have had the chance to get to know you, you always made me laugh, your a good dude!Keep an eye on on the rest of your brothers and sisters still actively fighting on the streets!

Hi Bryan.
It's been a while since I have written.
Please don't think that I have forgotten you. I will never forget that day and I will never forget you.
I've been reading all of your reflections. You were loved by so many people, and I am one of them. I just wish that I would have told you while you were still here. That is a mistake that I will never make again. I hope that you felt my love in the end.
Until we meet again,
Keep us safe from up above
Love You

There are those of us who do think of you every single day. We check this site daily to hear more wonderful things about you. Please keep watch over all of your family and your CPD family. I know personally that you are never far from their thoughts and prayers either.

August 15, 2007

I was told once that after a awhile people don't leave reflections like they use to and that people heal and move on, I want you to know no matter how long you are gone I will never forget you!! You are and always will be a HERO!!
I pray Malia will know what a special father she had and a beautiful guardian angel she has.

Bryan,

In my office I have your picture at my desk. I think about once a day someone comments who is 2057 or how do you know Bryan? I wish I really did know you. All, I can comments is he is my guardian Angel. I did not ever meet him he just saved my life. When I think about what happen I am not sure how I am still here. I like to think everything happens for a reason. But, then I think that's just a bunch of sh** to make me feel better. Truth is I don't think I will ever feel better until I get to meet you one day. Until we meet I will always remember what you did for us. Thank you.
