Reflections for Investigator Anthony Joseph "TJ" Freeman

Officer freeman, i'm here on the 9th anniversary of your passing. Your death was senseless and uncalled for, as that person didn't have a reason to kill you with his vehicle. Thankfully however, he was caught and arrested, as he was put to 20 years in prison. But personally, i think he should've gotten a longer sentence. But as a resident of bibb county myself, i personally thank you for your service to the city and state of georgia, as you did what you had to do that day, all in an attempt to stop an individual from fleeing. From what i can tell, you were one of the good guys in law enforcement, as you spent nearly 10 years in law enforcement, which in itself is an honorable achievement, not to mention that you were a good man to others and the city. On top of that, your children will grow up to learn about who their father was, knowing that their father truly was a hero, and died as a hero. As i mentioned earlier, the person who took your life will receive judgement day, as karma is most likely taking its time to catch up to him. As of now, may you rest in peace knowing your service is appreciated, and that the city of macon appreciates your service, including me, although i never personally knew you. Rest Well Mr. Freeman

Today as I sit at work and look out my door and the weather is rainy and a little chill is in the air. I think of you and how much I miss you and love you. I still have hard days with out you and I thought the days would get easier but they do not. Just want you to knw that I LOVE you and MISS you so very much. I know you are with Granny and Papa now and that makes me know that you have someone there with you. I still look to the sky at night for my signs that you send to let me know everything is alright and that you are watching over me. Until I see you again LOVE YOU. Love your mama

Just thinking of you tonight brother, I wear a bracelet on my arm with your badge number on it, I never thought that when we were in the academy together that I would have to talk to you on here. We lost another officer in my home town tonight. Don't worry though, we will catch him too. Continue to rest in peace knowing we are still here working brother.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when T.J. was killed.

To the Freeman family, fellow officers, and all who call T.J. beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Investigator Freeman gave to his community and the citizens of Georgia, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 5, 2016.

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Tony Freeman who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,
and bind his soul among the living, that he may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.
