Reflections for Trooper Billy Jack Zachary
My deepest sympathy to your family. There are no magic words I can use to tell them that I am sorry because there are not. I know their pain and the long road they will have ahead of them. Your brothers and sisters in law enforcement will keep your memory alive and you will never be forgotten. Your family will never forget you. I ask that you watch over them and protect them. Take special care of your little girl and guide her through life.

To the family and friends of Trooper Billy Jack Zachary and to his fellow officers of the Texas Highway Patrol:
I was so saddened to learn of the tragic death of this young dedicated officer. On behalf of our entire family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you sustained when Trooper Zachary was tragically killed in the line of duty.
May you be comforted and supported by the warm embrace of your law enforcement family, and by other police survivors who share your painful journey.
Although I know her mother will keep her father's memory alive for her so that his daughter will understand what a hero he was, I so regret that she will grow up without his physical presence. My heart goes out to this young family. My grandson Cody was born three months after my son Larry was murdered last April during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. I hope that Zoe and Cody can meet someday through the COPS functions and become friends.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Trooper Zachery gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 1, 2006.

Dear Zachary family,
My heart breaks for you in this tragic time in which you've lost a father, husband, brother, son, and officer of the law. A man of whom I did not know personally but a man that will be missed by many. Even though there is nothing I can say that will ease your pain, I want you to know that I'm praying for you. May our heavenly Father comfort you in this time of need. May the daughter of Officer Zachary grow up knowing that her earthly father made that sacrifice for her. May she come to know our heavenly father and the sacrifice that Christ made for her. May God Bless you all!

BJ you will never be forgotten and you will live in my heart forever. I can still see you walking into my office with that beautiful smile and those big blue eyes just glowing. It hurt so bad the day we lost you and it continues to hurt as each day passes. We miss you so much. For those of you who did not know BJ personally, BJ was one of the most kind, courageous and loyal men I have ever know. He loved his family with all his heart and he didnt mind telling anyone that. Tara and Zoie you will be in my hearts and prayers for ever. To BJ's parents, you raised one of the finest young men I have every known and loosing BJ both as a co-worker and a friend is like loosing one of my own children. I love and miss you BJ!
